The new weather website is full of fun new features that can keep you updated throughout the day if severe weather strikes close to your home.  On the very top of the page you are able to view slides that the weather team has put together and current radar images for the whole state.  Down below the slides is live Titan 3D radar, to see what the weather team is watching; and to it's right is chat software, where you can get your weather questions answered.  Below Titan 3D radar there are links to get in touch with the weather team and to submit pictures; links to the weather team blogs, and links to other useful links that are weather related or what weather impacts.  Under the stay connected extras their are many helpful links. The first one takes you to an interactive radar that you can control what you are viewing.  The second link takes you to a current warning map that auto updates every five minutes.  Their is also a link to view MyWeathercast. You can check school closings, traffic conditions, and airport delays.  Their is a link to help you program your weather radio.  If you suffer from allergies, their is even a link to give you an allergy forecast for four days out.  There are many more features that are on the site.

Alex,
I wrote to fox 9 weather that I have a 13 yr old nephew that is very interested and focused on weather and would like to be a meteroligist. He is a very inteligent, fine young man. Fox 9 weather is his favorite, and he raves about your radar. As if I know our understand why, though he sure seems to. Anyway, I had asked about internships and requested any info about what he could do if he couldn"t get an internship to further his intrest in being a metoroligist. However, I got only the response that you only accept collage students, which I understand, but I would really appreciate some info about what else he could do. It is very rare to find a 13 yr old who knows what he wants to do and is motivated to do it. I think it is a rare oppertunity to start someone out on a path to success at a young age. So, seeing as you are already on the inside track and have demonstrated your ability to succeed, I was hoping you might be able to help us further, atleast with some direction or ideas where he could go or what he could do now to directly advance his knowledge of the field and/or make good contacts in the field. Maybe there are youth programs or a charter school that Fox 9 sponsors or that you know of. Maybe you just need someone to make your coffee for the summer! :). Thanks, in advance, Travis Walter Majzner
