Super Bowl: Are you kidding me?!

I just still am shocked (and happy) that the Giants were able to do what they did last night..... what an awesome performance from NY! It's just unbelievable; I kept waiting for the Pats to rally in the fourth quarter but they never did (thankfully).... I can't believe that this is the same team that lost 41-17 to the Vikings way back when! Why can't every Super Bowl be this exciting???
I am getting tired of the mediocrity when it comes to Minnesota's pro sports teams. I guess we can exclude the Minnesota Wild from this category; but then again, I've never followed hockey in my life so I skip over that sport automatically. That's just me. Moving on.... the Twins this year were mediocre and never really made a real drive to try to get to the postseason again! The Vikings this season have been a real joke - I'm sorry for saying this but I think we really need to consider (or the Vikings organization to be more specific) needs to can Brad Childress as the head coach. It's almost been two seasons with him in charge and I have yet to see any real positive results to come from this. I see only mediocrity and no playoffs. And also - I don't think T-Jack (or whatever his name is, I know the last name is Jackson... lol... sorry!) is the answer either, NOT BY A LONG SHOT.... having him as quarterback is painful to watch!! But then again, there's not a decent quarterback on the team at all.
And now we come to the Timberwolves.... I was shocked to hear about the KG trade, and am almost disgusted... I can almost see the season result now - total mediocrity, losing season, no playoffs.... total BLEEP. Getting rid of Garnett is a major, major mistake!!
Well that's about it for this post - nothing really positive to say of any MN sports team.... outside of hockey that is. Hopefully the Wild will do something great this season!

What with all the talk of the Final Four and baseball going on in the area, I'm not surprised that most people here missed out on one of the most exciting matches of the year - Serena Williams v. Justine Henin. It was the final of the Sony Ericsson Open final in Miami, and literally this one was a thrill ride and if you missed it, shame on you. :) I have to admit when Henin went up 6-0, 1-0 I came very close to turning off the tube (well actually I did for a few minutes...). But somehow, with Henin serving for the title at 6-0, 5-4 (and having two match points), Serena turns it around and wins the match, 0-6, 7-5, 6-3! It was a dramatic and very exciting match...
And what else can you say about Serena? She starts off the year ranked #90 (or thereabouts), having only played like four tournaments in the past several months, and she starts off the year by winning the Aussie Open and now the title in Miami (not to mention steamrolling over Maria Sharapova twice this year!)
So much for Serena being "done"!

Being a huge tennis fan, I'm so excited about the women's final tonight because Serena Williams is in it! She could win her eighth Grand Slam title if she beats Maria Sharapova. This could be an epic match. It's such a great match-up. I have a sinking feeling Maria is going to get it but I hope I am wrong, as I am a lot. This is like the Super Bowl for me! What is so impressive is her ranking was #89 coming into this latest tennis season and who would have thought this possible? The critics have claimed she is so out of shape. However, she must be in reasonable shape; after all she has reached the final in the hot Aussie weather! Her physical fitness can be better, but she is really impressing me. She will be in the top 15 after the final win or lose. I hope she keeps it up all year and stays injury free.
Go Serena!
